The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum will be DC’s newest cultural destination when it opens fall 2014 and its Foggy Bottom location will provide faculty, students, and the public with world class museum collections presented within the academic breadth of a university. The museum will foster the study and appreciation of art, history, and culture through GW’s affiliation with The Textile Museum and through its university collections, including the Albert H. Small Washingtoniana Collection.
With over 9,300 SF of gallery and exhibition spaces, the 44,000 SF museum will include the renovated historic Woodhull House to also provide library and reference rooms, curatorial and conservation workspaces, and educational, activity and learning areas such as the Arthur D. Jenkins Library for the Textile Arts and the museum shop.
